We strongly recommend the use of a qualified electrician for all electrical installations and they must comply with current IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671 & UK Building Regulations incorporating Part P which applies to electrical installations:

Part P applies to electrical installations located in outbuildings such as detached garages, sheds and greenhouses.

Part P applies to parts of  electrical installations located on land around dwellings such as garden lighting.  

Part P applies to electrical installations that operate at voltages not exceeding 1000v ac.

All installations should be protected on it’s own circuit and own RCD (Residual Current Device) and not connected to the main wiring circuitry affecting other circuits in the home.

We have a good selection of waterproof jointing boxes and kits. Resin and Wiska gel compounds which can be poured into the junction boxes and are essential to a good waterproof installation. We would advise where possible to keep all junction boxes and waterproof joints above ground to minimise the risk of water ingress. All our exterior lights have an IP rating for external use. Copper grease should also be placed on the retaining screw heads to reduce corrosion.
