12v 2W G4 LED Covered Capsule, Daylight White (6000K)

This 12v LED G4 covered capsule is one of the most effective lamps available to date. Although it is only 2W,  the 13 LED pads have an impressive 200 lumen output (100 lumens per watt), which is almost double the output of many other G4s available. A plastic cover surrounds the capsule, protecting the LED's inside. This is especially useful when used with lights where there is no external protection for the bulb. The use of the cover also gives this capsule an impresive IP55 rating. This particular G4 has a colour temperature of 6000K which is a cool, bright white light (a softer, warm white is also available).

These versatile 12v capsules will work on a 12v A/C transformer or a DC transformer with no need for any special drivers, and are ideal for use where a long run of cable is used. A perfect replacement for halogen G4 bulbs in 12 volt garden lights with a longer life expectancy and reduced energy consumption.

Lamp colour ( Kelvins )

The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS light bulb in your house would be 2,700 kelvins which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 5,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum. Getting the right colour temperature of a lamp does matter as the warm colour wavelength helps to soften the tone of the area and gives a warm soft relaxed feel and ideal for colourful flower beds and rockery areas especially with wooden bark and at the other end of the scale a 4,000 to 5,000 kelvin lamp colour would be used against a light background such as white walls or to accentuate grey blueish foliage in shrubs and small trees.  When you buy a new, energy efficient bulb, keep your application and colour scheme in mind and make sure to buy the bulb with a colour temperature to match.
