12v, ground mount, spike light, Brass with rustic brown finish, IP54
( REQUIRES TRANSFORMER )
The 12v Director garden uplight is crafted from solid brass and has a decorative rustic bronze finish. An extra durable
polycarbonate ground spike with 4 fins and anchor is also supplied with this spot light, providing added stability when fixed
into soft ground. It is ideal for uplighting plants, shrubs, trees, statues or ornaments, and adds a classically elegant
look to a garden. Easily adjustable by a serrated clamp joint, this spotlight can be angled in various positions up to 180°
(vertically). The tubular body, convex lens and integrated glare shield results in the light shining in a narrow, concentrated
beam, ideal for illuminating individual focal points. This classic, low voltage bronze garden spike light has an MR16 fitting,
which is easily installed and replaced. To remove the main body twist anti-clockwise to release, and replace and twist clockwise
to secure. This simple method means no external screws are required which not only makes maintenance easier, it also adds
to the streamline and classic design quality. Recommend the use of a 12 volt LED MR16 which has a longer life span,
and uses less energy compared to halogen MR16s.

Low voltage is the safer option in the garden due to the ground being dug etc. You
will need to use a transformer which matches the lamp voltage, for example if you
had 6 fittings each with a MR16 35w lamp that would be 6 x 35w = 210 watts so you
would need a transformer that was about 250 va as you need some spare capacity on
it to function correctly. Standard MR16 low voltage lamps can use either an electronic
or standard toroidal type transformer but if you decide to use LED lamps then they
work best on the toroidal type transformer.
We recommend you use the heat shrink kits for cable jointing and also waterproof
enclosures with the hard setting resin compound to minimise the risk of water ingress.
Please try and make all terminations above ground where there is less chance of
water ingress. All installations should be done by a NIC EIC electrical contractor
to ensure a safe and 100% water tight installation. Waterproof joint kits and boxes
are available from our web site.
