Lighthouse Bollard Light - 0.4m, 0.6m, 0.8m, 1m - Green or Black

The Lighthouse Bollard is a commercial robust bollard in two colour options Green or Black and four heights 400mm, 600mm, 800mm or 1000mm.

The height options make it suitable for any outdoor area such as driveways, paths and sectioned areas. There are also two styles of heads to choose from, one being a 'domed' top and one being a 'pillar' (flat) top. The large range of pro bollard lighting is also designed for use in more commercial and public areas such as Golf Courses, Hotels,Shopping Centres, Public Parks & Car Parks, especially when used with bright, high lumen output LED Bulbs.

Height (choice): 0.4m / 0.6m / 0.8m / 1m
Colour (choice): Garden Green / Graphite Black
Head (choice): Dome Lighthouse / Pillar Lighthouse and in black only the flat top Lighthouse
Materials: Aluminium / Stainless Steel
IP Rating: IP65
Lamp Holder: ES / E27 Screw Cap
Mounting: Internal Mounting Base
Included: Instructions / Allen Key

The 'Lighthouse' style bollard light has a clear, high quality UV stop PC diffuser surrounding the centre section of the head which enables an even all-round light dispersal around the bollard and adds protection to the bulb installed. Further protection is added internally by silver aluminium louvres which also add character to the bollard and act as anti-glare shields.

The head and 2.5mm thick extruded aluminium cylinder of the bollard light are created from heavy duty die-cast aluminium, and all external screws are security allen socket type made from stainless steel, resulting in a completely rustproof and non-corrosive product.

In the event of being damaged after installation we can provide replacement spare parts such as Bollard Heads, PC lenses, Bulb holder assemblies making for a quick repair.

Light output ( Lumens )

The amount of light that is produced by a lamp is called lumens and the more lumens the lamp has the brighter it will be. Lumens work in conjunction with kelvins and should not be taken in isolation of each other, for example if you had a very warm white lamp at 2,700 kelvins and it produced 300 lumens and you then had another lamp which was a cool white 6,000 kelvins which also produced 300 lumens the cooler lamp colour would always appear brighter to the naked eye than the warmer one this is due to the receptors in the eye that react better to a white light spectrum. Another factor on how bright a light may appear is contrast so if you shine a white 6,000 kelvin light onto a dark wall and a warm 2,700 kelvin lamp onto a white wall the warmer lamp would appear brighter due to the contrast of the material it is focused on. So when choosing a lamp always take into account the area you want to illuminate and think about Kelvins ( colour ),  Lumens ( brightness) and contrast  ( colour of area).

Example of LED lamp energy savings

Bollard spacing

These bollards have an E27 lamp holder and work well with GLS LED E27 base light bulbs. The spacing of the bollards will depend on the lamp output, louvre design, height etc but a general rule of thumb would be no less than 3 meters and no more than 12 meters apart. The shorter distance would be for garden pathways, Public parks and car parks and the longer distance is for long drive ways.

Please check the specification for dimensions before purchasing

Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have a IP rating which is explained further in our design ideas section but in simple terms the IP rating is appropriate to each light fitting and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose. Water ingress is the enemy for outdoor lighting and the products supplied are only as good as the installation as the weakest point is always cable joints. All joint must be made 100% water tight and this can be done using heat shrink kits, waterproof junction boxes which are then filled with a resin mix or magic gel. All joints where possible should be made above ground for easy access and reduced water ingress. When installing ground buried lights adequate drainage systems should be put in place especially in clay based soil areas.

All exterior lights must be installed by a certified NIC EIC electrical contractor and all cable joints must be 100% watertight. There are a selection of waterproof jointing kits and boxes available on this web site.
