Dacu, up and down wall light, LED, warm white, 2w,

 73 lumen's, silver grey, IP44

Including a built-in LED driver. Emitting angle Beam: 8° for up light and  emitting angle Flood: 120° for down light. The Dacu up and down light LED luminiare throws a tight 8 degree beam angle up and a softer wide 120 degree beam angle down. The twin 1w warm white luxeon LED lamps are built in to the luminaire and have a long average life and very low running cost. This makes the Dacu a very ECO friendly light fitting which would suit many styles of property and many different types of application. Very attractive design with a ripple effect on the back plate so it still looks good when switched of. When mounted around eye level there is next to no glare produced from this luminaire. 73 Lumens output, warm white.

Please ensure that all exterior installations are carried out by a NIE EIC certified electrical contractor and that all cable joints are 100% water tight.

Care must be taken when installing exterior lighting products especially those that are ground mounted. All the products are sold and tested fit for purpose and the IP rating is set according to the design and purpose of the luminaire, more details on IP ratings can be found under design ideas section. The weakest point is generally the installation of the product where adequate drainage has not been made for ground buried lights or poor cable joints have been made which are not 100% water tight and will allow for water penetration. There are a number of waterproof enclosures available on this site along with heat shrink cable joint kits and resin gel packs to fill the junction boxes to make a watertight enclosure. Where possible try and keep all joints and transformers above ground, however if this is not possible there are potted burial kits available.

Lamp colour ( Kelvins )

Lamp colour is determined by the Kelvins and a lamp which is  2700 kelvin  is classed as warm white and sympathetic to skin tones and warm brickwork. A kelvin of 6500k is in the  blueish white spectrum and works well against a white background and will appear brighter to the naked eye than the warm colour spectrum.

Light output ( Lumen's )

All lamps have a lumen number and the higher the lumen number the brighter the lamp, however colour of the lamp (kelvins ) also comes in to play here as a whiter lamp at 6,000 kelvins and above would always appear brighter to the naked eye than a warmer colour lamp at the 2,700 kelvins light spectrum even if it has the same lumen output.  A halogen 150w R7 lamp that is used in a standard garden security flood light would produce around 2,300 lumen's and a 26w compact fluorescent would produce around 1,800 lumen's.  Placing lights closer to the item to be illuminated is a good way of using a lower lumen lamp rather than trying to flood light a big area.

Environmental impact

Care should be taken for local wildlife, insects, and general light pollution,  this means the warmer colour spectrum does not interfere with insects and general wildlife as much as the blue spectrum of light which can disrupt their  normal night time activity, This also applies to bats where a anti glare light fitting works better as well as reducing overall light pollution in the area
