Dasar 115, adjustable, MR16, ground buried, round, 30 degree tilt, IP67, 316 stainless steel, 2 ton load

This is a stainless steel luminaire  designed for exterior ground use and is IP67 ( see guide under design ideas )
We recommend you use the fitting with an LED MR16 bulb. .There is a ground potting pot included with the fitting. This fitting can take a maximum load of 2 tons and can be used as a drive over light. There is also 30 degree of tilt angle available in this ground light.

Example of energy savings

Low voltage is the safer option in the garden due to the ground being dug etc. You will need to use a transformer which matches the lamp voltage, for example if you had 6 fittings each with a MR16 5w lamp that would be 6 x 5w = 30 watts so you would need a transformer that was about 40va as you need some spare capacity on it to function correctly. LED MR16 low voltage lamps can use a standard toroidal type transformer.

We recommend you use the heat shrink kits for cable jointing and also waterproof enclosures with the hard setting resin compound or magic gel to minimise the risk of water ingress.

Please try and make all terminations above ground where there is less chance of water ingress. All installations should be done by a NIC EIC electrical contractor to ensure a safe and 100% water tight installation. Waterproof joint kits and boxes are available from our web site.

Light output ( Lumen's )

The amount of light that is produced by a lamp is called lumen's and the more lumen's the lamp has the brighter it will be. Lumen's work in conjunction with kelvins and should not be taken in isolation of each other, for example if you had a very warm white lamp at 2,700 kelvins and it produced 300 lumen's and you then had another lamp which was a cool white 5,000 kelvins which also produced 300 lumen's the cooler lamp colour would always appear brighter to the naked eye than the warmer one this is due to the receptors in the eye that react better to a white light spectrum. Another factor on how bright a light may appear is contrast so if you shine a white 5,000 kelvin light onto a dark wall and a warm 2,700 kelvin lamp onto a white wall the warmer lamp would appear brighter due to the contrast of the material it is focused on. So when choosing a lamp always take into account the area you want to illuminate and think about Kelvins ( colour ),  Lumen's ( brightness) and contrast  ( colour of area ) .
