Domo, path spread lights, 12v, copper, IP56

( REQUIRES TRANSFORMER )

The Elipta dome provides a soft pool of light for the illumination of paths or steps and around the patio, drive and lawn. Natural copper is often the preferred choice for traditional garden styles and natural settings as it always looks more natural than other metal of painted finishes. These 12v spreadlights hide the light source under the shade for low glare lighting. A 20w halogen capsule lamp is the usual lamp choice: a 35w lamp may be fitted for brighter lighting or a replaceable l.e.d. (light emitting diode) module may be used as a low-energy alternative. A frosted glass dome protects the lamp from irrigation spray, diffuses the light from the halogen lamp and reduces lamp glare to improve visual comfort in sloping sites. The shade is painted white underneath to maximise light spread. The shade and dome assembly is easily removed and replaced with a screw action, so tools are not required for changing the lamp. Elipta spreadlights are supplied as standard with black polycarbonate ground spike, which can be changed to the optional brass ground spike or deck mount if preferred. Very low glare.

Colour/Finish

Natural copper weathers to mottled brown finish to blend with brickwork, timber & gravel and may eventually acquire a verdigris patina.

IP rating
IP56

Construction
High-grade spun copper shade and tubular copper stem; Pressure die-cast brass body and brass fixings; Heat resistant, frosted glass dome; Finned polycarbonate ground spike

Input voltage
12 volts – requires power from a remote transformer

Lamp type
G4 20w (CAP20) or 35w (CAP35) 12v tungsten halogen capsule lamp orte transformer

Lamp type
G4 20w (CAP20) or 35w (CAP35) 12v tungsten halogen capsule lamp or CAPLED3WW l.e.d. module. Order lamp separately to suit application. 20W lamp is recommended for most applications: CAPLED3WW led lamp provides almost equivalent coverage at a power consumption of 3.2 watts

Installation
Connect fitted 60cm cable to low voltage supply cable by crimped heat shrink joint - order cable joint kit T9962 separately. Connect into a cable run supplying several fittings with a T9963 cable splice kit, which is also used for all connections where 4mm cable is used for longer cable runs.

Environmental impact

Care should be taken for the environment and local wildlife to maintain the ecological balance. Insects, bats, wildlife can all be effected by  light pollution. The warmer colour spectrum of  ( 2,700 Kelvins ) does not interfere with insects and general wildlife as much as the blue colour spectrum of light around 6,000 kelvins which can disrupt their normal night time activity. This also applies to bats where a anti glare light fittings works better as well as reducing the overall light pollution in the area. You must also be mindful of your neighbours and the effect your lighting can have on them and shining a 500w tungsten halogen flood light in to their windows at night will cause them distress. Try to keep the light in a downward position and local to the items you want to illuminate and even if you want to illuminate tall trees it can be done in a sympathetic way by placing a ground buried or surface spike flood light directly under the trees to illuminate the canopy. Some light fittings also have a anti glare shield fitted to reduce light pollution.
