It has flush lenses which shed water and dirt and are easy to clean. Unscrewing the front bezel makes it easy to extract and change the lamp without tools. Rustic brown powder-coated aluminium is a useful recessive colour choice for garden settings. Compact twin wall spotlights are ideal for mounting above French windows with twin 5w LED bulbs to provide threshold lighting or down-lighting patio areas from house walls with 2 x 5w LED Bulbs from 3 metres and also from 5 metres above ground. Compact wall spotlights may be dimmed with an LED wall dimmer switch if fitted with dimmable LED bulbs or you can use a wireless outdoor control system such as the 'WiseBox which we have on our website.

Solid metal spotlight bodies mount onto a central boss and gasketed back plate which incorporates terminal block connection space. Knuckle joints allow spotlamp adjustment in any combination of downward, upward or outward directions. The central boss revolves on the back plate and is secured by grub screws at the side for inconspicuous fixing combined with adjustable positioning.

All outdoor lighting should be installed by a certified PART P,  NIC EIC electrical contractor to ensure a safe and water tight installation.

Back plate screws to wall: body mounts onto the back plate with discrete allen key grub screws at the side of the body for screwless frontal appearance. Body can be rotated on back plate before fully tightening grub screws to ensure fitting is installed level, or at any other angle required. Grommeted rear cable entry. Silicon seal back plate fixings.

Choosing the style of a product is only part of the equation you must also think of where that product will be used and how it will be installed. All exterior lighting products on our web site have a IP rating which is explained further in our design ideas section but in simple terms the IP rating is appropriate to each light fitting and its intended application and is therefore fit for purpose.

Lamp colour ( Kelvins )

The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS light bulb in your house would be 2,700 kelvins which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 6,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum. Getting the right colour temperature of a lamp does matter as the warm colour wavelength helps to soften the tone of the area and gives a warm soft relaxed feel and ideal for colourful flower beds and rockery areas especially with wooden bark and at the other end of the scale a 4,000 to 6,000 kelvin lamp colour would be used against a light background such as white walls or to accentuate grey blueish foliage in shrubs and small trees.  When you buy a new, energy efficient bulb, keep your application and colour scheme in mind and make sure to buy the bulb with a colour temperature to match.

Energy efficient lamps

Choosing the right lamp is a combination of 3 main factors, Lumen's, Kelvins and efficiency. Efficiency matters because you want the maximum light output possible (Lumen's ) from the minimum amounts of watts consumed. Kelvins are the colour temperature of the lamp. 2700k is the warm end of the colour spectrum and 5000k is the cooler whiter end of the colour spectrum. The latest LED technology lamps are amongst the most efficient you can buy today. An example would be to change a mains halogen GU10 35w lamp to a ECO friendly GU10 5w LED lamp.  Reduced energy bills with no loss of light output helps the environment and reduce your energy bills.
