Quadmarka - 360 degree In Ground / Step Light - 316 Stainless Steel - 240v Step Lights
The QuadMarka is a 240v 4 way recessed light ideal for edging and highlighting areas of the garden such as decking, steps, patio areas, and even driveways. It can be mounted directly into the ground, or into materials including wood, brick, slabs and walls. Made from 316 stainless steel (marine grade), it is highly durable with a strong resistance to pitting and rusting, even in particularly damp surroundings. The top of this multidirectional light is segmented into four conical sections allowing 360º diffusion of light through a clear lens, without glare. The slightly domed surface makes this the ideal shape for mounting on decking, edge of a driveway, a patio or any other areas where a walk over facility is required but not to be driven over. The front bezel attaches to the steel body with a simple screwing method. This means no tools are required. in order to change the lamp. We recommend the use of a LED GU10 with the QuadMarka.
The robust black plastic sleeve will be built into the wall during construction or retrofitted into a hole. The main part of the light then pushes into the tube, where it is held firmly in place by internal gripping ‘teeth’ (see detailed image), just showing the streamline front dome.
The QuadMarka is supplied with approx. 3m of 3 core H05RNF cable but is also available with a 1m cable option. This longer cable length gives the option of a 6m space between two lights should it be needed, and could cut down the number of cable joins in outdoor lighting installation. Light can also be spread to a wider area with longer cable length.
Although they are rated IP67 they are not suitable in areas prone to waterlogging or flooding
Lamp colour ( Kelvins )
The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS light bulb in your house would be 2,700 kelvins
which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 5,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum. Getting
the right colour temperature of a lamp does matter as the warm colour wavelength helps to soften the tone of the area
and gives a warm soft relaxed feel and ideal for colourful flower beds and rockery areas especially with wooden bark
and at the other end of the scale a 4,000 to 5,000 kelvin lamp colour would be used against a light background such as
white walls or to accentuate grey blueish foliage in shrubs and small trees. When you buy a new, energy efficient
bulb, keep your application and colour scheme in mind and make sure to buy the bulb with a colour temperature to match.
