Smoothie recessed light - 316 Stainless steel - 12v

E8011 is a stylish 12v recessed light fitting for illuminating steps or patios with a choice of 20-35w halogen lamp or low energy LED lamps.The smoothie is fitted with a flush frosted lens as standard to diffuse the light and reduce direct glare which can be an issue with LED lamps. The light is located by an O ring on the body into a sleeved tube so that no external screw fixings are visible.
Remember that recessed step lights are in effect recessed spotlights - avoid using them facing viewpoints.

MR16 20w or 35w max halogen lamp 38 degree beam for wider staircases or 60 degree beam for wider coverage of a narrower staircase, path or patio. MR16 warm white LED lamps include 3w or 5w for lighting across wider steps; 50,000 life and low energy consumption make them a popular option from the standard MR16 halogen lamps.
Typical halogen to LED savings
The plastic sleeve is built into the wall during construction or retrofitted into a hole cut with a coring bit: the light pushes into the tube, where it is held firmly in place by an o-ring, leaving a front plate with no visible fixing screws. Suitable drainage should be provided below each light fitting to prevent water ingress. Smoothies should not be installed in ground subject to water logging, an IP68 light should be considered instead.
Connect input cable to cable from transformer using T9962 cable joint or T9963 cable splice kit. Water is the big enemy for any exterior lighting project and great care must be taken when making cable joints. We recommend using either the magic gel or resin mix packs to ensure a 100% watertight job. You will also need to work out how many lights you can put on each transformer and try not to either overload or under load as this will lead to premature failures.
