Waymarker 360 - 316 Stainless steel - 240v GU10

Waymarkers are a smart modern driveway edge light for installing in paving along a pathway, driveway markers and patio decking lights. They are available in 12v and mains 240v GU10, in both cases an LED lamp can be used to save on energy and keep the fitting cool to touch.
The recessed light has 4 opposing windows providing 360 degree of lighting. It is useful where you want to cast a corona of light in all 4 directions along a path, patio decking or drive edge. They can also be placed in a wall if required to create star like patterns. Will take the weight of a standard vehicle but  NOT SUITABLE FOR AREAS WITH HEAVY GOODS VEHICLES.

The cut out of the installation pot is 67.5mm diameter x 120mm depth

The diameter of the body of the fitting is 63.5mm x 110mm length

Can be used with a GU10 LED lamp to reduce heat and electricity bills.

Example of energy efficient lamps

Choosing the right lamp is a combination of 3 main factors, Lumen's, Kelvins and efficiency. Efficiency matters because you want the maximum light output possible ( Lumen's ) from the minimum amounts of watts consumed. The latest LED lamps will reduce energy bills with no loss of light output and helps the environment too.

Installation

The plastic sleeve is built into the wall during construction: the light pushes into the tube, where it is held firmly in place by an o-ring, leaving a front plate with no visible fixing screws. Suitable drainage should be provided below each fitting to prevent water logging. Waymarkers should not be installed in ground subject to water logging, an IP68 light should be considered. Using a single RCD for large numbers of 240v fittings is not recommended due to the risk of nuisance tripping. We advise the use of separate RCD protection for each circuit and a maximum of 12 fittings per RCD. Where a garden lighting installation of more than 12 spike mount or recessed lights per circuit is proposed, we suggest the installation of 12v units with transformers, which results in a significantly higher fault tolerance and reliability in the total installation

All recessed luminaires must have adequate drainage beneath each fitting to allow water to disperse, especially in clay based soil beds. All cable joint must be 100% watertight and there a number or waterproof transformer boxes and heat shrink cable joint kits on our web site to choose from. We would advise that all connections be kept above ground where possible as the weakest link in any exterior garden electrical installation is joining cables together.

Please ensure that your electrician is NIC EIC certified and has done exterior lighting installations before. Also ensure that all rubber gaskets are clean and dry before screwing down the front glass and bezel for a water tight seal. We would suggest you use a copper grease on the fixing screws to reduce corrosion.

Lamp colour ( Kelvin's )

The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS light bulb in your house would be 2,700 kelvins which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 5,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum. Getting the right colour temperature of a lamp does matter as the warm colour wavelength helps to soften the tone of the area and gives a warm soft relaxed feel and ideal for colourful flower beds and rockery areas especially with wooden bark and at the other end of the scale a 4,000 to 5,000 kelvin lamp colour would be used against a light background such as white walls or to accentuate grey blueish foliage in shrubs and small trees.  When you buy a new, energy efficient bulb, keep your application and colour scheme in mind and make sure to buy the bulb with a colour temperature to match.
