Lamp colour is determined by the Kelvins and a lamp which is 2,700 kelvins
is classed as warm white and is sympathetic to skin tones and warm brickwork. A lamp
with a kelvin of 5000 is in the cold blueish white spectrum and works well
against a white background and will appear brighter to the naked eye than the warmer
Energy efficient lamps
Choosing the right lamp is a combination of 3 main factors, Lumen's, Kelvins and efficiency. Efficiency matters because you want the maximum light output possible (Lumen's) from the minimum amounts of watts consumed. Kelvins are the colour temperature of the lamp. 2700k is the warm end of the colour spectrum and 5000k is the cooler whiter end of the colour spectrum. The latest LED technology lamps are amongst the most efficient you can buy today. An example would be to change an incandescent GLS lamp to an LED GLS lamp. Reduced energy bills with no loss of light output helps the environment and reduce your energy bills.
