The Pagoda is an exterior wall light fitted with a PIR and photocell that lights the LEDs for added security. Stylishly designed to look great in any modern environment and suitable for use in both domestic and commercial environments but not marine coastal environments. This is a popular selling fitting which we have sold for several years.
The tiny row of integral cool white LED's run around the perimeter of the fitting providing a nice glow once it gets dark. Total wattage 0.05w. This illumination will remain in place until light and simply provides an ambient glow. Dimmable bulbs can be used but this fitting is not equipped for dimming purposes and not necessary.
The light bulb required to illuminate the fitting is an E27 maximum permitted wattage is 9.2w. (not included). We suggest using LED GLS E27 light bulbs.
The E27 bulb will illuminate via the PIR below. This will activate in darkness when someone is present and can remain on from 5 seconds to a maximum of 5 minutes
An ideal security light lantern wall light with both PIR and photocell features..
The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS light bulb in your house would be 2,700 kelvins which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 5,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum. Getting the right colour temperature of a lamp does matter as the warm colour wavelength helps to soften the tone of the area and gives a warm soft relaxed feel and ideal for colourful flower beds and rockery areas especially with wooden bark and at the other end of the scale a 4,000 to 5,000 kelvin lamp colour would be used against a light background such as white walls or to accentuate grey blueish foliage in shrubs and small trees. When you buy a new, energy efficient bulb, keep your application and colour scheme in mind and make sure to buy the bulb with a colour temperature to match.
Check the packaging and make sure that you have all the required parts. Follow each assembly step in order to prevent incorrect assembly. Ensure that the product is fully assembled as illustrated before use.
Plan the desired layout of this fitting carefully, ensuring the cables will reach the distance between the junction box and the light fitting. Avoid locating any cables in positions that would cause a hazard. Position cables and outdoor rated junction boxes away from areas where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or damaged.
We recommend that you use HO5RN-F specification cable which is an outdoor grade rubber sheathed cable. The mains supply cable must have a minimum cross sectional area of 1.0mm(squared).
Existing fittings must be completely removed before installation of a new product, before removing the existing fitting, Remove existing box (A) from the product by removing dome nuts (C) and washers (D). Pull terminal block off of retaining pegs. Carefully pierce a small hole in the rubber gasket in the centre of the mounting box to allow the cable to pass through.
Thread the cable through the hole, ensuring the drain hold is at the base of the mounting box.
Fix the mounting box to the wall using the screws and plugs supplied (B). Ensure the wall is capable of holding the weight of the product. Take care to avoid damaging any concealed wiring and pipes. The correct fixings should be used for brick or cavity walls.
Fit the product back on to the mounting box and refit washers (D) and dome nuts (C), tighten dome nuts to secure. Using the supplied hexagonal key undo the screw on the underside of the cone shaped lid. Lift off the lid to access the lamp housing. Once the lamp is changed review the above process to refit the lid. Replace fuse or circuit breaker and switch on. Your light is now ready for use.
This fitting has two sensors. The first is a Lux sensor and the second a PIR.
The Lux sensor turns on the LED's when the ambient light level reaches a pre-determined point. When ambient light levels rise above this the LED's switch off. This sensor is not adjustable.
The PIR sensor has a detection range of up to 8m as shown on the diagram in the attached instructions. This can be altered by turning the 'Sens' screw. By turning the 'Time' screw, the time can be altered between 5 seconds to 5 minutes duration. You may need to make further adjustments to achieve your ideal light level settings.
