Elipta Compact 270mm Bollard Light - Black - 240v

E6532P ideally suits up to a 7 watt E27 LED Candle lamp or long life compact fluorescent lamp up to maximum 20 watt - recommended for driveway and path lighting, especially if timer-operated for long periods. This minimises energy consumption and lamp replacement. This garden bollard light is supplied as standard with a finned spike for installation in soil and gravel.

Colour/Finish: Black powder-coated aluminium is a traditional recessive colour choice for garden settings
IP Rating: IP66
Construction: Machined from solid metal tubing with stainless steel spike. Frosted polycarbonate diffuser is framed by top cap and screw-on base ring which allows the top to be unscrewed for easy lamp replacement.
Input Voltage: 240v
Lamp Type: E27 LED Candle lamp . Order lamps separately
Installation:

Pre-wired with 2m rubber cable. 240v versions can be connected into a mains junction box or a T9969 underground joint kit. Ensure soil is loose enough for spiking into the ground: forcing the spike into hard soil may damage the fitting.

Using a single RCD for large numbers of 240v fittings is not recommended due to the risk of nuisance tripping. We advise the use of separate RCD protection for each circuit and a maximum of 12 fittings per RCD. Where a garden lighting installation of more than 12 spike mount or recessed lights per circuit is proposed, we suggest the installation of 12v units with transformers, which results in a significantly higher fault tolerance and reliability in the total installation

Bollard types and spacing

Bollard lights are available in a variety of styles, finish and lamp options. You need to think about how the light will be used for example a small garden pathway, the main driveway or to illuminate steps etc.  If you are within 20 km of the coast you should think about using the Wooden, Copper, Iron, Brass or Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel. Some bollards have built in LED modules which generally offer lower levels of light (lumens) than a standard LED GU10 lamp. Also, it is likely the LED module is a sealed unit and an integral part of the bollard which cannot be replaced if it fails meaning you will have to purchase a complete new bollard. There are bollards that use GU10 LED lamps and E27 base LED lamps. The spacing of bollards will depend on the type of bollard, louvre design, height and lamp output etc but a general rule of thumb would be no less than 3 meters and no more than 12 meters apart. The shorter distance would be for garden pathways and the longer distance for long driveways.

Lamp colour ( Kelvins )

The colour of a lamp is defined as a measurement called kelvins. A standard GLS incandescent bulb in the home would be 2,700 kelvins which is in the warm colour spectrum and a lamp with 5,000 kelvins would be at the very cold white spectrum.
